The trusty Wine Blogging Wednesday logo that you see here has served us well. It’s been plastered all over the blogosphere, appearing on participant sites, host blogs and of course right here on WineBloggingWednesday.org.
But, as everyone’s favorite virtual wine tasting event enters its 42nd edition, I think it’s time for a change.
With that in mind, I’m excited to announce the new Wine Blogging Wednesday Logo Contest, which starts today and will run until March 31, 2008.
At any point during that time, you can submit your logo idea via email to winebloggingwednesday@gmail.com. Once we’ve collected all of the submissions, we’ll post them to Flickr and everyone can vote for their favorite.
We don’t have any official prizes lined up yet, but isn’t the love and adoration of the wine blogging community prize enough?
If you’re a blogger and would like to contribute to a prize pack, let me know.
So, if you’re a designer or play one on TV, make sure that you send in your submission by March 31. Spread the word, the more submissions we have, the better!

d547 is proud to supply the winner with a Catavino Blogger Sampler Pack, of three Portuguese wines selected by Ryan and Gabriella Opaz. Anybody else want to submit a prize?
Can I sent in different examples, or just one?
Hello! What a fine way to add creation and participation into this world.
I’m very interested in your contest.
How many logo idea submissions can one set forth?
I would be delighted to submit (as part of the prize)one dozen of my elaborately decorated Austrian-esque Chocolate Artisan cookies individually wrapped in cellophane and secured with ribbons. (Baked in a certified Kitchen with professional label of ingredients)
I came across your site and invitation via the Culinary Fool’s blog.
Thank you,
-Jif
Thanks for the great comments guys.
First, I think we should cap the number of submissions per person at 5. That way it won’t get too insane (hopefully).
And thanks for offering up the cookies for the price pack…I’ll be posting about the pack later this week!

so what’s up? its already May any news?
What’s up with the Logo contest?
Any plans for the logo contest? Is it still on? Have you extended the date again?
i wonder when will you post all the entries, maybe you can just cancel than keeping us waiting forever! duh!
I heard you extended the deadline again to June 30. What’s up?!
Rob: You heard incorrectly. We (WBW management) are narrowing down the choices to our favorites and we’ll begin the voting process next week.
Has this contest finished or is it still open?
It was kinda sad when I actually found this post, although it is really to my own fault.
You see I designed the first WBW logo a long time ago, when I was blogging at http://www.drinksomewine.com. I took a few years off, and just recently began blogging again.
Thanks very much for the honor you did me of keeping the mark for long. From time to time I would check in and read the reviews, and see my work, and smile a bit, pouring an extra glass of wine each time.
Good Luck to the new entrants.

I think this violet log is actually quite nice. Keep up the imaginative work and I think you will be doing perfect. Creating logo’s is all about style and this is exactly what this violet logo has.

As I don’t know weather you received my entry or not.
Please inform me. Or if you receive my entry than please send your expert comment on it.
